Michael Hartup

Mr. Hartup is a West Tennessee native. Michael Hartup graduated magna cum laude with a degree in Business Administration and Accounting from the Fogelman College of Business and Economics at the University of Memphis in 2000. He then earned his Juris Doctor from the Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law at the University of Memphis in 2003.

He joined the Hill Boren team in December 2007 to run the firm's large Social Security practice. He has practiced in the areas of workers compensation, personal injury, criminal, and domestic law. He currently handles hundreds of disability cases a year and represents clients throughout West Tennessee and North Mississippi.

Mr. Hartup resides in Jackson with his wife, Mary Glenn, who is also an attorney and Special Hearing Officer with the Tennessee Department of Human Services, and their daughter, LuAnne Grace. They are members of St Lukes Episcopal Church of Jackson. Mr. Hartup is also a member of the Jackson Madison County Bar Association, the Tennessee Association for Justice, and the National Organization of Social Security Claimants' Representatives. He is a past board member of the Young Lawyers Division of the Madison County Bar Association and is a current board member for the Madison County Court Appointed Special Advocates for Abused and Neglected Children. In his spare time, Mr. Hartup enjoys fly-fishing and duck hunting.
