Shannon L. Toon

Attorney Shannon L. Toon is a native of Union City, Tennessee and graduated from Union City High School in 1991. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. While attending college at UT, Mr. Toon was a member of the Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity and Chi Epsilon National Civil Engineering Honor Society. He received his Doctorate of Juris Prudence from the Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law at the University of Memphis where he was a member of the Student Bar Association.

After law school, Mr. Toon began his law career with the insurance defense firm of Spicer, Flynn and Rudstrom, PLLC in their Memphis office. He joined Hill Boren, P.C. in May of 2003. He is admitted to practice before all state courts in Tennessee as well as the United States District Court for the Western District of Tennessee.

Mr. Toon is a member of the Memphis Bar Association, Tennessee Bar Association, Tennessee Association for Justice, American Bar Association and American Association for Justice. As a member of the Memphis Bar Association, he served on the Executive Committee in 2007; as President of the Young Lawyers Division in 2007; and on the Board of Directors of the Young Lawyers Division from 2002-2008. While serving as a YLD Director, Mr. Toon served on the Community Service, Social and Sports and Recreation Committees.

In addition to his involvement with the aforementioned legal organizations, Mr. Toon is an active volunteer with the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Memphis, Youth Leadership of Memphis and Memphis Area Legal Services. He has been a mentor at the Downtown Porter Boys and Girls Club since 2006 in the Lifeline Mentoring Program.

Shannon currently resides in Memphis, Tennessee. He enjoys all sports especially playing golf and watching Notre Dame football and Kentucky basketball
