Hill Boren Welcomes Jeffrey P. Boyd

Jeff joined our team of lawyers in November. He brings seven years of legal experience, having previously worked for Allen, Kopet & Boyd, LLC.

He received his Bachelors of Business Administration from the University of Mississippi in 1991. Mr. Boyd attended the Cumberland School of Law at Stanford University in Birmingham, Alabama and received his law degree in 1994. Mr. Boyd is licensed to practice law in Alabama and Tennessee as well as the United State District Court for the Eastern and Western districts of Tennessee. He is a member of the Alabama and Tennessee Bar Associations.

His legal career began with Leitner, Williams, Dooley & Napolitan, PLLC in its Chattanooga, Tennessee office. Jeff left this firm to become a partner in his own firm, Allen, Kopet & Boyd, LLC which had offices in Chattanooga, Jackson, Nashville, Knoxville, Atlanta, GA and Orlando, FL. In both firms, Jeff's practice was concentrated in the area of worker's compensation and personal injury.

"Jeff has great insight into how insurance companies and employers try to avoid paying injured people. His experience will be a great asset in the courtroom," stated Robert Hill.

Jeff is married to the former Suzanne Lyn Oliver of Jackson. They have four children: Mattie - five years old, Kalyn - four years old, J.P. - two years old, and Miller - two months. In their spare time, the couple enjoys playing golf. Jeff and his family are members of St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Jackson.

Jeff will be based in our Jackson office and can be reached at (731) 423-3300 or 1-800-727-0622.

James R. Krenis Passes Bar Exam

Hill Boren would like to congratulate new associate James Krenis on passing the bar and welcome him to our firm. James has been working with us since last year as an intern helping the attorneys on case research and development.

James moved to Jackson from Memphis after graduating from University of Memphis School of Law in May, 2001. There, he was the American Association for Justice student president at the University of Memphis School of Law, and also received the Dean's Distinguished Service Award.

"Deciding to become a lawyer seemed natural for me. I have always admired my grandfather who was Chief Counsel for the Atlantic division of the Army Corps of Engineers," explained James. "I was inspired by his service and his experiences."

James grew up in New York City, but moved to New Jersey where he graduated with a B.A. in Journalism from Rutgers University in 1993. He was an active member of his community, founding a video production company and serving as a volunteer firefighter. He was awarded a national citation of excellence for his video work and achieved the rank of assistant chief and president of the fire company.

Mr. Krenis continues to be an active community member here in Jackson, as a volunteer firefighter and a Ruritan Club member. Professionally, he is a member of the Tennessee Trial Lawyer's Association and the Jackson-Madison County Bar Association.

He and his wife are huge animal lovers. They have two cats, two dogs and a horse. Their dogs recently won "First Prize" in a pet Halloween costume contest sponsored by Petco. The proceeds of the event went to the Jackson-Madison County Humane Society. In addition to spending time with their furry friends, they also enjoy hiking and playing tennis.

Hill Boren Adds Two To Support Staff

Hill Boren is pleased to announce the addition of two new support staff members in the Jackson Office.

Heather Harris has been working with Hill Boren for about six months, but has just recently joined our staff as a full time employee. She was initially hired as our receptionist. She has since started working with one of our new attorneys, James Krenis as his legal assistant. She will be helping him with case development and handling related paperwork. Heather is originally from Humboldt and is near completion of her degree in Civil Engineering. She is the proud mother of her four-year old daughter Mati Hays.

Ashley Dickerson is our mailroom clerk. She oversees the mail processing and package delivery. She also runs errands for office staff and attorneys. She has been with the firm since August. A Jackson native, she has previously worked with her parents at their restaurant The Dairy Dream in south Jackson. Ashley is also a graduate of the Tennessee Technology Center of Jackson.

Robert Hill Receives Fellow Status

The American Association for Justice recently recognized T. Robert Hill as a Fellow of the National College of Advocacy (NCA). This certifies that Mr. Hill has participated in at least 200 hours of NCA continuing legal education programs since 1990. "The continuing legal education programs have allowed me to better serve our clients," stated Robert Hill.

Sherry Percival Speaks For SNAP

Sherry Percival recently spoke to a group of teenage girls on behalf of SNAP (Saying No to Adolescent Pregnancy). Sherry spoke to the group at First Baptist Church in Jackson about the importance of maintaining a high self-esteem and remaining goal focused. She is currently Vice President of SNAP. Sherry is a lawyer with Hill Boren.

Client Comments…

To The Law Office of Hill Boren and Staff,

I want to thank you for all your dedicated efforts in presenting my case pertaining to my grandmother.

Your efficiency and timely manner was reassuring and supportive to our family. I know this will not bring my grandmother back, but hopefully this will prevent other families from suffering in a similar situation.

If I ever need the services of an attorney again, your office will be my first consideration.

May God continue to bless you!
- Client in Jackson, TN

Are These Toys On Your Shopping List?

Children's products are recalled at an average rate of two per week. How many recalls do you hear about? Most companies spend countless dollars on marketing their products but leave recall information in the hands of newspapers and magazines in the form of free press releases and public service announcements.

Recalled products can often be found in our homes and childcare centers. They are sold at secondhand stores and garage sales without any awareness of their potential dangers.

During this gift-giving season pay careful attention to toys and other products meant for children. Most toys that have small removable parts are not recommended for children under age three and are labeled with a warning. However not all toys have warnings.

Following is a listing of toys and their dates of recall. Make certain that you no longer have these items in your home and make sure you check this list against your shopping list.
