Working on a construction site is a dangerous job. Working on steel beams, scaffolding and around heavy equipment increases your chances of being injured on the job. If you have been injured on a construction site, you probably have a workers' compensation claim and may have a third party personal injury claim. See our section on workers' compensation for more information.

The following example illustrates what we mean by "third party claim."
Example : You work for Company X putting up exterior siding. Company Y provided the scaffolding and it was not put up properly. The scaffolding falls while you are on it and you are seriously injured. Company X must provide your medical care, two thirds of your average weekly wage while you are off work and pay for any permanent disability. If Company Y, the scaffolding company, was negligent, you may be able to sue and recover medical expenses, full lost wages, pain and suffering and other damages.

Construction site cases are complicated. If you, a family member, or a friend have been injured on a construction site, you need to contact a lawyer immediately. Immediate investigation is necessary because job sites change and witnesses are harder to locate as time passes.

At Hill Boren we have a full-time investigator who works on construction cases and we have the experience to handle the most complicated injuries. Please contact us if you are injured on a construction job. We are paid on a percentage basis and the first visit is free.
