Cook On Riverboat Receives Injuries From Fall
Mr. Boren recently represented a 55-year-old woman who was a cook aboard a riverboat. The pilot of the boat struck in Paris Landing bridge. When the boat struck the bridge, Mr. Boren's client fell inside the boat and broke her hip. An orthopedic surgeon performed a partial hip replacement. Mr. Boren's client was unable to return to work due to the long hours on her feet. A Henry County jury awarded the client $220,000.

30-year-old male, employed by a towboat company as a deckhand, was injured when an unsecured hatch cover blew off in a high wind and knocked him into the bottom of a barge, crushing his foot. Client required several surgeries to insert and remove orthopedic hardware leaving client with permanent disability to his foot. $300,000 settlement was reached at mediation.
