Tennessee Medical Malpractice Settlements

Doctor Refuses to give Medical Care
T. Robert and Tamara Hill recently settled a medical malpractice case involving the death of a 72-year-old woman. The woman was taken to a West Tennessee emergency room on February 5, 7, 9 & 10, 2006. The doctor refused to admit her despite her continuing decline and the obvious failure of the outpatient treatment she received. On the February 10th visit, the physician sent her home in an ambulance because she was too weak and too sick to travel by family car. She died on February 12, 2006. The case settled for a confidential amount in October 2008.

Doctor Accidentally Amputates Newborn Toe
Jeff Boyd represented an infant and her family who was being delivered by local doctor. In the process of cutting the umbilical cord, the doctor somehow managed to amputate the little girl’s toe. The toe was then lost and therefore unable to be reattached. She underwent immediate surgery to remove a remaining portion of the toe. She has fully recovered and is expected to not have any lasting physical problems. In trial we obtained an $83,000 verdict for our client. Hill-Boren asked the court to order a structured settlement on behalf of the client, which will result in that verdict paying out close to $195,000 over the life of the structure, guaranteed.

BREAST IMPLANT CASE
Attorney Robert Hill, with the assistance of paralegal Lynn Richardson, recently settled a breast implant case that has been tied up in the Dow Corning bankruptcy for over 13 years. Finally, the settlement was approved and the client, who had waited patiently, got her money.

PRESSURE ULCERS FROM HOSPITAL STAY
